Nutritional Lifeline: The Feeding Tube Decision will help you learn
how feeding tubes can improve the quality of life for those who have difficulty
chewing and swallowing. Personal stories of people who have made the decision
are part of the package.
The modular materials are designed for you to select the information most important
to you.
Chapters include:
1. Decision-making: How will a feeding tube (PEG) change my life? Can people
tell I have a PEG? Will I need special clothes? Can I still run, swim, golf?
When is the right time to get a feeding tube? Is this a permanent decision?
2. PEG Insertion procedure: Where is it done? How long will it take? How
long will I be recuperating?
3. Using and caring for a PEG: What can I eat? Will it hurt when I use it?
Can I use the PEG by myself or will I need help?
